Could you add road noise to the poll questions?

If I could I would, but I'm am unable to edit my initial thread post. I'd like to add few more tyre choices to.

Mods, can you be helpful please?!

PR4s - approx 7k mls, rear beginning to square off. Quieter than OE Anakees though not silent. Handle well. Too little wet weather riding to comment. Would buy again...

Conti Road Attacks
•Wear ~3500, on the first set (sorry but ride hard so can't give milage on normal riding)
•Wet Grip 5 Never moved in normal conditions , as all tyres will move on road shit
•Dry Grip 5 Brilliant right to the edges front and rear
•Puncture Resistance 5 Never had one
•Cornering Grip 5 Inspires confidence , low as you can go.
. No road noise.
. High speed straight line , super stable one or two up.
. Look nice as well as this can make a difference to some .

Cant fault these tyres , tried all the others and found the best all round by far , apart from the mileage , this for me is fine as the tyre is so good and mileage is not a concern for me.
Hope this helps , I ride a GS not an ADV as I don't do off road as have other bikes for that , but the poll only seems to ask for road points.

I've had PR4 Trail & GT on my GS LC and their puncture resistance in respect of the sharp chippings used in North Yorks last spring was shocking. I had two punctures within a few weeks (bear in mind I only ride on a weekend ) and only avoided a third by stopping and pulling out another piece of chipping after riding on a relatively freshly resurfaced road.

They grip well, especially in the wet, but don't handle quite as well as the OE Trail Attack 2's. The rear lasted about 3500 miles and the front about double that.

I've now fitted Tourance Next's and I'm very happy with them so far :thumby:

Going to change mine to either roadtec or road attack 3, just getting to decide which.

There are two reviews one for the GS and the other for A Honda , the Roadtec won the Honda 17" tyres but the GS review placed the Pirelli Scorpions first

I've been using the Scorpion Trail2 for the past 3.5k miles including trips down to Andalusia. They are absolutely brilliant. Nothing bad to say about them at all. Highly recommended.

How do you find the front as I like a tyre to turn , not like an over loaded wheel barrow ( Nakke 111) how do these feel . I use Conti and find the front very light and drops in to corners , are they similar as I like this.

Excellent point

I had anakee 3's on my 09 GSA. Very good all round tyre. On certain tarmac you got the Landrover whirring noise from them, very noisy, but still a very good tyre. Didn't get that with the PR4s.

All very personal I know but I think Trailsmarts should have been on the list. Having tried all the dualsport tyres bar the Pirelli on the list I prefer the Trailsmart but I'd put the Trail Attacks in second place.:thumb2

Never tried the Contis, so I can't say how they compare. However, I'm used to running Pirelli SuperCorsas and Diablo Rosso Corsas on my sports bike, and the Scorpions have a not dissimilar feel. Very predictable and have a great feel from the front.

Thanks , gives me a good idea as have run those before on Super Dukes and Ducati . Thanks for the info . I just wish to steer away from the wheel barrow type front tyre that sometimes becomes a touring tyre , slow to turn and vague.
Thanks again:thumb2:thumb2

The Anakee III's aren't on the list? I don't find anything wrong with them and continue to replace them.

My mate had them taken off (at his own expense) at its 1000km service.......... reckons they where borderline dangerous!! (A3)
