Tyre choice's

The load rating on the front tire in the link is lower than your spec, 66 = 300kg 61 = 257 kg

Otherwise the two sets on the web site appear to be identical :nenau

Ok thanks. I'm no tyre expert so is this important ? Bike is more often than not two up fully loaded.

No expert myself but I always observe the manufacturers specs, I guess it would be fine to go with a higher rating but I wouldn’t go lower

Might also give your insurance an excuse in case of an accident

Why just Cobras Doc? Assume it’s because you have had them and liked them on HDs.

I have Michelin Commanders on the Chief and had no issues with them. For the RoadMaster I fitted new tyres earlier this year but as you will no doubt find, you will be restricted to whoever can actually supply you with a set.

I had three sets I was looking at, Cobra’s, Commanders and Cruisetechs. The only ones my tyre guy could actually find available and in stock where the Cruisetechs which are the OEM fitment. I ruled out Dunlops as they are awful, like riding on concrete hoops, constantly letting go under power on bends and roundabouts especially in damp and wet conditions.

You will also find on the interweb a lot of places listing tyres for the bike but in the majority of cases they don’t actually have them and they will order them in but have very long lead times.

So you may find it’s a case of having to buy what’s available, but to be honest I find the OEM Cruisetechs to be a good tyre.

Yes have them on the Harley but dont mind whats on the Indian now tbh. Suppose i could just replace like for like which is probably easier.

Avons aren't so easy to get hold of now the UK factory was closed by Goodyear after they took over Cooper. Avons are now made in the Goodyear/Dunlop factory in Montlucon. I can see the brand disappearing in the motorcycle market.

Looks like the company Moto-Tyres are a drop-ship type business, it's likely the tyres are exactly the same but from a different source, hence different cost.

If it was me I'd just ring Bike Tyres Leeds and ask them to get them in. Or ask them what they can do. Good honest people.

I have had tyres from them before.
Funny but I was going to take them to Bike tyres for them to fit them.

If they don't have them, they'll generally get them in.
