After some extensive research, I’ve decided on Conti Trail Attack 3’s as my next tyre, deposit paid and ordered in to be fitted next week.

£310 fitted seemed a fair price. It will be my first ever set of new tyres, coming away from some very worn Anakee adventures so will be interesting to see how different this will feel to a relatively new rider (1 year in).

Look forward to the feedback on their performance, (black, round keep air in). Was that a National deal or a local supplier to you?

Just take it steady for the first couple of runs....

For pure road use an excellent tyre. Drops in really quick and holds a line well. I’ll probably be going the other way to Anakee to find a bit more grip on light off-road.

Local place to me in Birmingham that came highly recommended. Fitted to loose wheels but that seems the norm.

Yeh first few runs will be easy going for sure, will post back once they’re bedded in 👍

I’m 100% tarmac, mainly touring miles. I’m not really one for going off road unless I have to. That will probably constitute to about 0.5% of the tyres time so seemed a sensible option.

I’ve gone from JNCO RAF to commissioned Fusilier in 23 years. Funny where life takes you

So you mastered the art of crayons!!

One of our guys served as a company commander for you lot a few years back (Keith Everson), He was Queens Royal Lancers. Obviously Tidworth.

I believe he was HQ company commander (but don't quote me on that), he absolutely loved serving with the Fusiliers and would often speak highly of the Battalion.

Went from RAF to Pongo. I’d consider getting a bigger sized helmet, yours is obviously too tight 😉

Good choice on the rubber though, would that be Wheel House you’re using?

My 1250 came fitted with Anakee Adventures and they are a decent tyre , replaced with Dunlop Mutants (not good and replaced when half worn) .Got TA 3's fitted to the bike and it was transformed , I have used earlier versions of the Anakees with zero issues .

The Stelvio I bought is fitted with Anakee Adventures ,the front was half worn and rear new when I bought the bike and they are again decent tyres but will be getting replaced next year with something more road biased .

My Stelvio also came on Anakee Adv tyres, and I am surprised they are pretty good!
The Stelvio is on 8k miles now, the Anakee;'s are nearly done - so CTA3 next I think...however Conti recommends RA4, so that may be an option on the Stelvio (possibly stickier but I assume less mileage)
I'm def sticking (no pun intended) with CTA3 on the GS...

Remember the V rated CTA3 has more tread than the W rated, so stick with V (y)

So trail attack 3 preferred to something like a mich road 5 / 6 etc?

Currently on mutants. They are ok. Good in the wet. I can find the limit in the dry on a twisty road though.

Will be looking for more grip next time. Little to no off road.
