Tyre decision made

So trail attack 3 preferred to something like a mich road 5 / 6 etc?

Currently on mutants. They are ok. Good in the wet. I can find the limit in the dry on a twisty road though.

Will be looking for more grip next time. Little to no off road.

It's personal choice I guess. I tried Mich Road 6, and didn't like them at all. I reckoned the tyre walls were too flexible
CTA3 a huge improvement for me, but others prefer Michelin

The carcass on the Michelin PR6 are really soft compared to the CTA3. It's the same reason i did not get on with them on the GS.

I've had CTA 3's the last 50k miles. I wouldn't change to another tyre as they give me all the grip i need in all conditions. Plus good longevity - usually seeing 8k from a rear and 10k from a front (before they're down to wear markers, and mainly squared off)

As long as it’s 5 Reg RA 😁
Or 5 Heavy as we used to call them. If you happen to know Tony Masterman, I’m sorry to say he passed away. The big C. He was a terrific clay pigeon shot, and ran the clay pigeon shooting club at Marne Barracks. 5 Regt RQMS, and a big friend of a mate I was in JLRRA with, Danny Considine.

When from Anneke's to CTA3, much better road tyre in every way, including getting rid of the noise, superb in the wet :) I would say they're not as good on the lose stuff/ wet grass etc, if you do a lot of that stuff I'd say CTA3 aren't for you.

Think that’s well after my Dad’s time 🤗 we came back to the UK in 1984 🤪

Reg were in the process of moving from Hildesheim to Dortmund, around that time the M107’s were being phased out I do believe 🥲

A little late to this party but TA3 is the perfect choice. Let us know how you are getting on with them.

My 1200GS on Conti Road Attack (same compound and profile, just different tread pattern, so I was told) was amazing. They weren't dual compound though, so squared off quite quickly. This was in 2006 though!
