I've always gone by the tyre manufacturers recommendations, which can vary. Dunlop for instance say 36/42 solo.
The handbook is OK the day it's printed.
If a manufacturer changes their recommendations, the book doesn't get amended.

Thanks Martyn,
I think it was you that told me those figures before:thumb2
Made a note this time. Hope you are well and enjoying the sun.
Have you been tempted buy a new GS?

I'm waiting to see the RT next spring; I can resist anything bar temptation........:beerjug:

The missus and I went down to the Cotswolds on Monday, so I upped the pressures before we left. Didn't have time to drop them again before a very wet commute into work the following morning - other than feeling a lot harder, it actually felt as if they gripped better.

Is that just me, or does a higher pressure on the RT help?

It's a TC on Metzelers Rodtec Z8 Interacts, btw.

I run 35-36 and 41-42 whether on my own or fully loaded.
Yes, when solo the tyres feel a bit harsher, but the bike turns in and holds a line much better.
<12st btw

Tyre Pressures

2.2 , 2.5 bar solo
2.5, 2.9 bar two up.

This was in the RT section but its the same for the GS I am sure. But I do see people saying 2.5 2.9 is favoured for solo riding. Im 15 stone so surely a higher pressure would suit me. Or is the manual correct regardless of the riders weight? Tou
rance EXP now squared off so Pilot Road 3's going on and Michelin say 2.2 2.5.

I know I can work it out by trial but and help appreciated.

I have a 2010 and use 32/36 on mine which is only ever used one up.

I find it gives a slightly less harsh ride and notice no difference whatsoever in the handling otherwise.

No, Michelin web site clearly states 2.5/2.9 or 36/42 in old money. Just done 2,000 miles in Spain on these tyres with these pressures - perfection.
