So before you say it, I know the recommended tyre pressures are written under the seat, but......

I have been riding with them a little lower than recommended, specifically 2.4 front 2.7 rear. Bike went in for a service last week and they up'ed the pressures to 2.7 front 2.9 rear and I don't like it as much. I find it much harder to balance the bike a crawling speed for instance.

Got me thinking, what do others do and I guess each tyre would be different too right?

Dam I meant this to go into the LC section. Can an admin move for me please? Less haste and all that...

I do not like the way my 1200gsa l/c handles with lower tyre pressures. JJH

I have a spare set of wheels with Mitas E 10 knobbly tyres fitted (similar to TKC 80) for green laning.
Anyway they were still on the bike the last week and the missus and I went out for 150 miles bimble through the lanes and I didn't think to check pressure first. Bike handled and braked fine on dry tarmac.
When I got round to checking pressures the front was 19 and rear 29 psi and from memory recommended is 36/42.

Oneplus 2 = my phone

I use 36-42 on the road (and did with TKC-70) but off road tyres usually have stiffer side walls so can be run lower when off road.

Sent somehow.

I run 2.5ish front and 2.9ish rear, regardless of what brand of tyre I'm running.

Lowered mine back to this this evening and went for a test ride - definitely prefer it. Bike is much more stable at crawling pace.

2 or 3 years ago I saw a talk by one of the Bridgestone MotoGP tyre bods, he said some interesting things including always run tyre pressures at the values recommended by the tyre not the bike manufacturer.

Tyres sold with the bike are often not available now. Other brands might have different needs. Tyre tech evolves pretty quickly.

Sent somehow.
