Hi guys as a new bmw rider I have a 2018 r1200gsa rally te. It came standard with snake 3 tyres. I have read the manual but the tyres seem very hard when riding. What pressure are you running in your tyres?
The GS does produce a harsh feel, I think it might be the type of suspension transmitting road imperfection through the frame.
I feel it mostly throug the pegs on mine, I understand this is called 'character'.
On my 2012 GSA for solo and even with luggage I eventually came to the conclusion that the "recommended) 36/42 was simply too harsh riding, and it gave really squirrelly handling on any kind of rough roads, gravel, etc. so I lowered them both around 10% to 33/38 and found it much better. Surprisingly it was also much better on smooth roads and no longer wore out the centre of the rear tyre so much so that's what I ran and continued them on my 2014 GSA. I strongly suggest everyone at least try riding at these pressures.
