Tyre suggestions please

My 650 twin came with a pair of Distanzias.
Whilst these are fab on my Mt 350, I don't have the same confidence in them on the GS. Now that I'm ready to change the tyres I would be interested in your opinions please.
I don't ride off road and most of the riding is on fast twisty(damp) roads.

I have been using Metzler tourance EXP tyres over the past 20,000 miles (had two sets) Very happy with them, have excellent dry and wet weather grip.

Dunlops for sure, but I prefer the Trailmax TR91.

over 11k miles

bike had them as standard fit from new and just gone onto 2nd set (at last service even though was still some [not a lot] miles left in the tread)

I suggested the Roadsmarts because the OP said he never went off-road. I was going to add "or maybe Trailmax if you want to keep the off-road look", but then I realised that I didn't know if they did them in the correct size for the 650

Like you, my own preference (on a 1200 GS Adventure, ridden almost entirely on road) is also for the TR91.

I've used the original Bridestones, Pirelli Scorpion Trail, and Conti Trail Attacks. The Conti's are best for me (no offroad), giving good grip and feedback wet or dry. They also wear well. They've just brought out a Trail Attack 2, I'll be going for them next.

My 650 twin came with Bridgestone Battle wings but in the wet became more like a feeling of tombstone Death Wings in the wet twisties .

Changed to The old type Metzeler Tourance for me that was the best road wet and dry confidence, a stint in the Pyrenees with some wet mornings was the proof in the pudding

Had the Heidenhau's on my wire wheels, but having put my road wheels back on I have returned to the Old type tourance for my Strasse
as before 150 rear section for the 19, 17 road set up





I'm sure other tyres mentioned are good by why change the format when you are happy with something

I have had Anakee 2s on my F800GS and liked them a lot. Continental Trail Attacks are better and seem to be lasting longer than the 9.5k I got out of the Anakees.

Well thanks for that. Well worth the post!
I like the sound of the tourance and trail attacks as opposed to pure road based tyres. The roads I use for work are often water logged or covered in crap and farm mess.
The conti's sound good( I swore by a few sets of road attacks on a previous bike)but are more expensive than the tourances.
I've found a pair of tourances for £170 delivered or tourances EXP for £183 delivered.
Standard trail attacks £178 delivered.
