I’ve managed to snap the threaded part of the front wheel air valve off and to my complete lack of surprise found out that our Bavarian cousins have deigned to make this is an integral part of the tyre pressure sensor (RDC). :censor:

Whilst the tyre is still inflated, the valve needle is now fully exposed so I’ve been ringing round to get a spare as a matter of urgency. The three dealers I’ve called have quoted in the region of £145 for a replacement sensor and fitting but as none had them in stock I did a quick Google and found the following.

So I called up my nearest dealer and they’d never heard of them, I had to supply the part number, but he has ordered one which will be here later in the week, cost £12 ish.

I’ll post back when repaired to report on the success or otherwise..

Oh, and I will be getting one of those angled adapter hingamies. :augie

They are made of cheese. My BMW supplied metal valve cap corroded on, and undoing it caused the valve stem to snap. Changed under warranty after a bit of slap and tickle. Suggest you do the same.

Good luck with the repair though. Post some piccies?
