Daft question time. Is it normal/best practice to replace the valves when fitting new tyres ?

People who change there own tyres don't change the valves unless they are damaged, tyre changers will change the valve, it then becomes an extra on the bill

With TPS fitted is there anything needs to be done when tyre fitter puts new tyres on ? like new valves ??? will they be able to damage the valves/units ?

should I warn them first, sorry for stupid question, first time TPS for me.

The valves are integral with the TPS unit, so you can't change the valves on their own. If damage occurs to valve or unit the cost is something in the order of £90 for the unit. I have changed tyres with TPS units myself and not had a problem, but make the tyre fitter aware.

No TPS. It's an 03 1150RT.

cheaper than that one in a thousand blowout because of an old valve, and yes I have seen that happen!

So your are saying one in every 500 bikes (2 valves per bike) will have a valve blowout and one in every 250 cars (4 valves per car ) will have a valve blowout

nope I'm picking a pointless number out of the sky because I cant believe you would be so cheap as to not replace a component that is so cheap yet so vital :D
