I bought my lovely bike earlier this month and have visited it in my garage over Christmas, firstly to keep both bikes company and secondly, to connect up a battery charger and put on a lock (Christmas presents).

As I was there I thought I'd check the tyre pressures and pump them up.

Who in their right minds when designing those wheels thought it would be a good idea to put the valves in the smallest, tightest space on the wheel.

I can't get the head of my pump anywhere near the valves.

Right angled valve extenders have been purchased from the nice people at Motobins, but still, really?

Plural. Why not just one? You going to be one of the guys that rides about with the damn things on permanently... Ooh, think of all that out of balance unsprung weight.

What do you do when you want to pump your tyres up?

It's just convenient to have them on permanently rather than remember to take the extender thingy everywhere with you, just in case.

Although, I may keep one in the garage, and one in the tool kit and not have them on all the time. The choice is mine then. :D

Any disadvantages of having them on all of the time?

As above. Plus they're likely to corrode onto the valve stems due to the different metals if left in place. I've one in the bike toolkit.
The other lives in my jacket.

Thanks for the advice.

Message understood. One in the tool kit and one in the garage it will be.
