Currently running Conti Trail Attack 3. Looking for something 50:50 as will be doing more off road. Contiinental TKC80 comes in same sizes as TA3, 100/90 19 and 130/80 17. Would prefer Michelin Anakee Wild which seems better grip on road and longer lasting and radial but front is 110/80 19. Rear comes in same size as Contis 130/80 17. Anyone tried a 110/80 19 front? Would it fit ok?
Probably splitting hairs and TKC80 will be more than good enough, but just fancy giving the Anakee Wild a go.

have you considered heidenau tyres?
K60 Scout.

Yes but too hard and slippery on road I think

can't say that the M+S tyres are neither hard nor slippery, however I perceived them to sing on some surfaces

I found TKC 70 front and TKC 70 rocks on the rear a very good combination for all round. Used them for high mileage trips up to Scandinavia through forest roads and road trips to Luxembourg and Wales.

Thanks.
I think its either TKC80 if I keep closest to the original tyre sizes.
Or Anakee Wilds if a front 110/80 will fit and work (I think original fitting is 90/90 19 and I am running TA3 100/90 19). If the 110/80 19 is a No No, then I will go with TKC80.

I fitted Anakee wilds in the sizes you mentioned to mine with no problems apart from being horrible things to fit.

I was considering TKC 70 Rocks for both, now I am curious: why do you prefer regular TKC 70 at the front?

I had TKC80s - never again! They rumble, vibrate and make an incredible noise. They look good though and they do 'work'. I went to Pirelli MT21s for off roading and they were great, but the bigger chunks flex more on the road, so you have to keep your speed down or watch them disappear from underneath you. I was tld a trick by my Pirelli PR man - for the first 2000 miles go extra steady and they 'mature' then they will last much longer than if you don't bed them in well.

I am now running on MEFO Explorers and they are extremely grippy, even coping in mud. Not proper mud pluggers but every bit as good as the TKC80s, and on wet rocks. They aren't going to last long though. I am half way down at about 5000 miles.

I used Heidenau Scouts for years and were just right for me. But hard road use in hot weather - I live and ride in the Spanish Pyrenees - the M&S don't last long, my personal record being just 4,500 kms ...

Had a few short runs with the Anakee Wilds on. Seem good, definitely way better on wet gravel tracks and grass/mud. Had to go with 120/80 front as limited sizes in 19". Thought that would mean heavy steering but actually the exact opposite, not sure why but almost falls into corners. Maybe gaps in the knobbles vs the full rubber of a CTA3 mean there's less friction 'tween tyre and tarmac and just steers more quickly. Not enough mileage to comment on durability but so far so good off road and seem to have good tarmac grip too, although no motorway miles yet, just single track, BOATs and rural lanes.
