Ok, I tried to get offroad tyres for the Wales event this weekend.
140/80-17 are not easy to find, at least anything decent.

Mezler Unicross looked like they would do,

but after contacting several stores in the UK, they dont have any, never heard of them or they said they wernt made yet!

So I found this online store www.moto-tyres.co.uk and I ordered direct from them. One Unicross tyre arrived today (the rear). Hope the front arrives tomorrow.

So I can same they are a reputable store, quick sending (3 days) and cheap :D
£49 for the rear, and £38 for the front. Prices for Karoos are similar.
Their websites sucks somewhat, but you can ring or fax them too.

Dealer in London wanted £83 for a rear Karoo!!!!!

After seeing how well they worked on your bike in Wales, they're definitely going to be my next choice. They were amazing ( or could it of been the rider... :D ). A top find mate :thumb

Thanks for the info :) What's the make and model number for both front and back?

So how are you finding the Unicross tyres? From what MrTickle says they're OK off road, how about on the tarmac? (I hasten to point out that I know they're an off road tyre, just hoping they're not lethal on tarmac :) )

Does the rear seem to be coping with the power output of the HP2?

Sorry to dissapoint. They are LETHAL on the tarmac. Turn left, the bike wants to go right. Road use = bad.

Offroad, unbelivable. They are a damm good tyre. Mud is no problem. Ploughs thru.
Fast sections on loose surfaces = bloody sticky. I slowed down for the corners, but high speed there was no slide. They are seriosuly good tyres off the road.
They are not a combo tyre.

...just ordered a set on-line for the Wombat Hunt... an interesting experience :eek . I reckon the web designer was German...

tyres

just put a new desert on the rear and a baja on the front, dont know how the mix works on tar but i bet it will be great on dirt. The bike is getting the ohlins put on today and the forks are being done as well. Plus a new staintune full system. Nick Dole from TEKNIC is doing the work. I reckon the handling and performance will be excelent...

Desperately looking for the Unicross....

I have the Karoos and it's just not enough traction for me offroad. These Unicross look like they can be the answer to my prayers but am having difficulties in ordering them.

I live in Korea and it is just impossible to find anyone who hold these tyres or have plan to bring them into the country due to the limited demand. I also tried to order from the US, Australia and other countries, inlcuding tyres online, without success.

Would anyone direct me to someone who old these tyres and willing to send them to Korea? I would also be grateful if someone can order from Tyres online for me and ship them to Korea? I am willing to pay for the full cost + reasonable cost for the trouble.

Thanks guys.

I don't mind getting some out you. It will cost approximately £70.00 to UPS ( assuming a weight of around 10Kgs? ) to Korea ( 4 day delivery ). If you pay me via paypal, it shouldn't be too much of a problem for me.

ok. ok. where can we get this mefo tyre thingy??? Looks lke the unicross, but a bit more agressive. I tried the regular karoos (front and rear, tubed, with an 18in rear tube installed on a 17in wheel).... slightly better than the T's, but not by a long shot.... so i'm waiting for my unicross tyres to arrive....but these Mefo's are getting to be very interesting. a web site would help though.... since i've googled, yahooed....yipeed, and yehey-ed the MEFO name and all i got was MOFO :o

Likewise i just put new deserts on front and rear, fitted a full Staintune a couple of weeks ago, you won't be dissapointed with the results. Would love to hear what your opinion of the ohlins change out is........that's what i may look at next.Going to try and test out the tyres this weekend......
