Have just purchased a memory stick for storing some stuff on its a 4GB sandisc Cruzer. Whats all this bollocks about using it to transfer all my PC stuff and work of another machine as if it were my own crack.

Any body throw any light on it for me with their opinions if I should try and use it or should I just use it as a memory stick as I originaly bought it for?

Thanks guys..... :drool

They have developed some applications, email clients, word processors etc. that can actually run from the memory stick, they do not need to be installed onto the standard Windows platform.Because they run from the stick without relying on the underlying PC OS, they can run from any PC that you plug your stick into.

Therefore you can take your common programs and the data around with you on the memory stick, plug it into any Windows PC and use the programs and your data.

Can't do it with applications like MS Office, or Autoroute, only specific applications designed for this type of use. There are Office style applications available on this platform though.

Overall, quite 'neat' but doesn't work for everyone by a long way.

Cheers lads thats explained a bit for me ......... Crikey the prices of them smart Memory sticks is coming down well ......... :bounce1
