Anybody down here following the Desert Challenge? In case you're interested, check out: http://www.uaedesertchallenge.com/
I've just beeen down to the Moreeb Hill Bivouac as i've got a mate on a 450 Honda competing. No BMW's this year, unfortunately....except for the X3 cars, which are absolutely awesome!! My Pal complained they passed him at well over 160kph on the dunes!
You may've heard of Nick Plumb, who has competed in this kind of event on a BMW before...(Was in the Dakar recently too!)...he's going well. Especially considering his bike looks like a showroom model compared to the KTM and Honda Factory stuff that he is just slightly behind!!
Check out the link anyway. Desert / Cross country rallying is the domain of the last 'REAL' heroes. Those of you who ever saw John Deacon (RIP) in action on the 900RR, will know what I mean!!
