Just received a black 2013 R1200RT 90th Anniversary version with 6500k on the odo, beautiful bike and much lighter then my current Honda pan European 1300. The left side radio panel has no radio buttons, only bottomless ugly holes, For some reason. Was the radio removed b4 purchase, or it came from factory with the radio panel,if so its odd because the bike also doesn't have the left handle bar audio control wheel. It really doesn't look good.
So i either buy the radio and fix it in, or get something to plug the holes.
Does any blank piece of plastic exist to plug the holes, if so whats the part number.
Thanks in anticipation.

There is a blank, it just clicks in, part number stamped on the back of the one in front of me is 46.63-7 686 763 and PA6-GF15

£10 from BMW

That panel is also an excellent place to mount extra switches etc - easily/cheaply replaceable when the bike is returned to original condition

The bike should come with a covering plate on it. I removed it and fitted my Starcom socket in it then clicked back into place. Incidentally, its a real vote of faith in the bike that you have bought one with 6,500,000 miles on it (6500k)

Sorry about the mileage goof, i mean 6,500. Thanks Dennis, i will try to source it from a US site. wanted to post some pics but no way.

Just a thought, but is it worth searching around the scrappies for one ?.

Interesting

If the holes are there, then I'd say it was delivered with the audio system. (£1050 factory option when new) Are there speaker grilles in the fairing? iphone/audio cable in the locker compartment? if so, You might only need a few parts to bring back the music. Try and delve into the bike's history.

No they all come with the holes in the fairing panel, and the cover is placed over them.

I have the radio on my RT so if you want to know anything let me know and I will see if I can look for you.

Just thought, if the bike is a 2013 model its still under warranty. Go back to your dealer and ask them why the panel is missing ?. and get them to sort it out.
