Hi Guys,
We are up in the Highlands for a week starting next weekend and have most days planned but on Monday the 17th we are arriving by ferry from Harris to Uig on Skye and have a whole day to get to Applecross. just wondering if there is any must see things that we really shouldnt miss??
Its Scousebirds Birthday on the 18th so looking forward to a night in the Applecross inn that night.
We will be on the GSA (hopefully) so if you see us give us a wave or join us for a wee dram :)
Cheers

Andy

If you have the time, leave the Isle of Skye via this ferry rather than the bridge...

It makes the journey to Applcross a wee bit longer but the route is well worth it....:thumb

Fairy Glen
Take the road which goes to Sheader and runs up behind the Uig Hotel. This leads to a glen which at the top end has a number of small lochs, and small conical shaped hills, which give the appearance of a miniature landscape:thumb2

It's on 2/3 miles of route

Just got back from Skye (unfortunately was in a car - was missing my bike the whole time :( ), but can recommend the road from Uig to Staffin (map) for the spectacular eastern end which is called Quiraing. It is an amazing mountain landscape and nice switchbacks down to the coast.

Don't miss it!

You can then head down the coast to Portree and onwards.
