As title really.

Already have 3 signed up to this, another 1 or 3 would be great. Even numbers work well for hotels 😁

Highlights;

3 Dams
Sauerland
Salzburg
Grosslockner
Susten Pass
Furka Pass
Grimsel Pass
Great Escape sites Fussen
Black Forest
Moselle Valley
Rhine Valley
Eiffel Hills

200 miles a day ish, rolling average of 40mph which means legal speeds on the twisty bits.

On the schlepp days I tend to bumble at about 60mph. Arrive way less frazzled.

A couple of 2 night stays to allow a circuit of Grosslockner and Swiss passes for example

Basic but decent hotels, with a smattering of IHG ones I can get a deal on with work. Salzburg and Trier.

Day 1 is a schlepp to Soest.
Day 13 is a schlepp to Coast.

Other than that its ;

70 pc Excellent roads
20 pc Epic Roads
9 pc Fuck me this is sensational roads
1 pc hmm, bit dull this.

I’ll do all the route planning and hotels etc, routing adjustable within reason to visit something of particular interest to an individual 👍

I know all these routes very well, it’s a great trip with no ‘Stelvio’ type passes, which I personally don’t like.

It’s generally 50mph sweeping bend type roads, with the passes thrown in.

Feel free to comment / express interest.

I’d like to get the attendance wrapped up by end of January, with a view to a weekend trip in April May so folk can meet and finalise routes etc.

Anyway, if you’ve ever wanted to do a Europe trip but never felt comfortable with it, or you’re an old hand, you’d be v welcome; I keep things simple, insert petrol, ride, eat, tell each other how epic we are, sleep , repeat.

Tend to get going at around 0900, with the intent of being in hotel by 1700, occasionally, (twice) up to say 2100.

Oh bikes - variety so far, Tiger 900, Guzzi v85, anything that’ll do 60mph and 200 miles a day is fine 👍

I should add that one attendee has never ridden in mainland Europe before, mileages have been adjusted to suit this, so this would be fine for someone similar.

I’m not that nice….. I’ll jack up the hotel prices and make everyone else pay for me without realising it 👍😂
You could always throw a spot of camping in :) :)

I'm out the following month, booked the ferry ticket but undecided on where to go yet or I'd tag along.

I don’t mind camping …….

but when I can get a decent twin room for 50 60 70 quid, 25 30 35 each,……

……it works out that I’m basically paying an extra 10 20 quid for a dry warm bed, and a shower; where I don’t have to trek through 8 litres of piss to get to.

Plus I don’t have to pack away a wet tent, fart sack etc etc .

Plus don’t have to carry 8 gazillion kg of camping kit…..

Be great to have you though seriously 👍🏽

Plus this time I’m looking to go an a wholly inappropriate bike like my Indian FTR, I’m down to 2 pairs of y fronts loading capacity already…..

I could always jump into your hotel room and throw a bucket of cold water over you and wee on your bathroom floor in the morning to recreate the camping vibe 👍🏽👍🏽😂

I book some hotels via Expedia/Hotels dot com and you can get 10% cashback via Topcashback plus their usual rewards programme. Although I am booking more direct with the hotel as sometimes substantially cheaper and better availability. My fellow travellers are aware of this arrangement and happy for me to have a small perk for arranging their holiday.

All good stuff.

Last 10 tours or so I’ve gone back to booking .com.

TBH, I basically take the bills and split equally, so say 3 people are in 2 rooms I’ll split it 3 ways rather than someone getting a bigger bill.

Von Stolberg on here I, sure will attest to my planning, but not over planning skills 👍🏽

He still owes me for fixing his bike in 32 deg heat outside a nightclub on lake Balaton, git 😂

I'm not that generous. The occupants pay their own bill as I don't prepay anything. That way they lodge a card when checking in and settle their own bar/food/room bill when checking out. If they want a single, like me, then they pay the extra. If they join the trip late and have to take a posh room then again, they pay the higher rate.

I quite like sharing with Von Stolberg, because each morning I wake up and look over, then realise I’m the best looking guy on the tour 😂
