UK to Cape Town

Hi everyone
Is there anybody who interested travelling from the UK to Cape Town South Africa?
The approximate date set is August 16 to November 06 2014 this date can change if required.

There will be good and bad roads and camping as much as possible.

Im 59 year old miner who has been on bikes all my life and like travelling.

Calais France to Alicante Spain.
Ferry from Alicante to Algiers Algeria.
Nigeria,Chad,Central Africa Republic,Democratic Republic of the Congo,
Uganda,Kenya,Tanzania,Zambia,Zimbabwe andSouth Africa
route can be changed if required.
bikes an ultra heavy r1200gsa

We work extensively in CAR and DRC...not good areas to be thinking of going through at the moment. Mind you, most of the other places on either side are crap too - South Sudan etc.
It can all change of course, and others may have better reports from the ground.

Dave. I too am considering doing Africa. I was thinking east coast but that is looking problematic given the issues in Sudan. Are your dates firm? I'm just back from a South American trip so was thinking about Africa towards the end of the year. I haven't checked the rainy seasons for the west coast but that will be key to considering dates.
I'm based in Dublin, 51, done a few big overland trips, 1200 GSA.
