Theres an opportunity here for the Man that wants it .
Between the advertised operators not answering their phone , and then when they
do , they only operate monthly , or "" Sorry we dont go North "" Really ? .
I use pallet Express on a regular basis , that is the route i had to take .
Paid a little more to have it insured , but happy with the service , they phoned me ,
i had no occasion to lift the phone . But ,, in the back of my mind , these guys although
well intentioned , are not into motorcycle transport.
Any how , Mey wee bundle of Joy landed Safely .

I'm in the process of using John from collectmybike to bring a new bike from Bournemouth to Armagh and at this stage I am far from impressed!! Little in the way of phone calls apart from to say his van has "blown up"! I do know he collected the bike but as to where it currently is I don't know. Not good at answering the phone either! Anyone used this man as all the reports on here were favourable towards him. Maybe it's just my luck. Anyone on here any experience with this guy?

I am not being cheeky but a genuine question.
The purpose of buying a motorcycle is to go riding on it hence buying a motorcycle a distance away presents and opportunity to ride it.

And I agree completely and it's something I have always done and I had intended to do the same on this occasion as I had priced planes, boats etc and it was do able for a 500 mile ride in a day. All was planned but I thought booking a flight to Southampton (something I had done in the past to ride a bike home) in advance this time of the year left me susceptible to variable weather conditions which could have affected my ability to get home the same day leaving me with an additional bill for overnight accommodation, food etc and as this man was charging me £200 I though it not worth the risk. How wrong was I? Yes,500 miles in a day is quite tough but something I have done on numerous occasions in the past. You live and learn. As for your presumption without knowing the circumstances (and it could have been a twist and go scooter which incidentally I have flown to the mainland and rode home the same day!!) I find your conclusion slightly without foundation!
Here's hoping for a swift conclusion to my new Kawasaki Versys 1000 delivery wherever the hell it is!!!

And a genuine answer . Firstly the Cost element , its simply too expensive for me . Secondly , i like luxury , and dont like to
roll in a rush , i like to take my time and savour where ever i am , you cant do this jumping on a plane in Belfast early in the
morning and rushing up the M6 to be at Cairnryan for the 10 o clock boat home , thats just penance .
Oh , I had no motorcycle insurance when i bought the bike , which is a consideration ! ....
In saying all that , i wouldnt hesitate to fly anywhere , collect a bike and drive home , i have done and may well do it again ,
i have bought bikes as far away as ""The Mainland "" on the Continent of Mainland Europe ,Germany , and ridden home ,, leisurely like ,, . And yes i do like travelling by motorcycle
and when i have it set up this is my primary mode of transport here.
