Eighteen and a half brace walked up at Glenogil. Nice enough day with some coorse showers.
Was that all you were looking for? Lot of late birds ,hardly ready to shoot
Aye yer right.....lot of cheepers....quite a few places cancelling..Rottall, Glenlethnot, Clunes(!) Corrybrough(!). Few at Invercauld.....you up for a couple of days minding 30/31 Aug???? Let me know.
Lot of places in N. England not so good...Wemmergill(bulgy eye), Arkengarthdale.....yet Reeth next door is OK.
Snow in May didn't help early broods.
Good to chat with Hamish at Glenogil....this is his 57th grouse season!! He was telling me he was so proud of the first eagle he trapped on a fox bait he rode about Braemar with it strapped across the front of his bike!! Changed days eh! He's had a few BM's in his days! Christ, he's deef now!
