Photo rally,

Decided on Friday night to spend the day today doing the Ulster Photo Rally points and my mate Paul was up for it as well.

Started About 8:15 to meet Paul in Ards. Misty but nice and bright.

Off to Quinton Castle it was very foggy going down the coast road to Portaferry but the Lough was like a millpond.

Managed to Catch the 9:15 ferry to Strangford. It was very murky!! Overlooking Portaferry.

Out through Annacloy to Ballynahinch and then on to Dromore. Headed off up the Lurgan Road then turned and went through Blackskull and out to Gilford Tandragee and Armagh. Turned the Armagh Aughnacloy Rd at Killylea and Headed out through Tynan and on to Glaslough. Found the old Inn and took a photo of the bikes at the entrance to Castle Leslie. Wonder what Old Macca would pay now to never see the sight of the place!!!!

Next stop was at Navar Forrest Park so instead of heading up to the Main Road we took a series of little single trackers eventually coming out between Clogher and Fivemiletown. Took the Back road from there through Clabby and Tempo and on up to Navar Forest Park. The view up there is normally stunning but it was so hazy you could barely see the Lough below. Got the shot of the Memorial to the Catalina and Sunderland crews that lost their lives.

Went up the Cashlehard road out of Belleek to avoid Ballyshannon. This is a very narrow twisty wee road. Stoped and took a photo of the lake along the way. The Sunderland crash site is signposted from here but we didn’t have time to look at it.

Went through Donegal town and got our first View of the Atlantic after having been at the Irish sea a few hours earlier. Instead of taking the Main N56 To Ardara we headed up the R262 down the Tamur road and along a very scenic single tracker the Carrickatleve Glebe that led onto a few more single-track roads. It was then up the coast to the Waterfall.

The next run was all on quickish roads out to Letterkenny, Derry and off to the Bishops Gate at Mussenden Temple. Stopped at Letterkenny for Fuel. Pauls computer was saying 20.5 Celsius

It was then out to Coleraine and then Out Via Clogh Mills to Slemish

Then Back home via Ballyclare and Belfast.

Bike clock said 384 Sat nav said 363 so 21 miles out on the Odometer then. J all in all a good day out. Left home at about 8:15am and got home at 6:30PM. The Boyne Riders Photographic Rally is a great way to get out and see parts of the country you’d otherwise not consider. Even if you don’t enter!.. Must say it’s a lot easier now with Sat Nav and Ver 9 mapping.

enjoyed the report and photos - fair play to you! any chance you could post the garmin route file?

That's exactly what it's designed to do.
Sure you might as well do a few more and enter
Goan,goan,goan!

Will do. Got 15 points two years ago and lost them all in a hard drive crash. Lesson learnt!! Photobucket and backup's now!

Thanks for the comments guys.:thumb
