I received my monitors a few weeks ago after ordering at the Kelso BMF show. I have to say they work far better than I ever expected with my MP3 player. I took off along the road for their first test ride with my volume turned up a little above the level I normally listen at, thinking that once up to speed I'd need this extra volume to be able to hear the music clearly. I was wrong, I had to stop a little further on to turn the volume down. I've also used them with the music switched off and can confirm that they cut out a lot more wind noise than standard squidgy earplugs. They also cut out a lot of engine noise, so would make long tedious motorway journeys a lot more bearable IMO. They are also very comfortable.

I've done the same hour long commute for 7 years and it was starting to get a tad boring, even if it is on one of the countries best biking roads and often featured in magazines! I now have tunes and have found a new enthusiasm for riding to work.

I know some folks say that listening to music is distracting etc. but for a daily commute up and down the same road I think its ok and may actually lessen my frustration when caught behind traffic. They are quite expensive but I believe they are good value as I'll be wearing them 10 hours a week.

All in all, good pieces of kit and I highly recommend them.

Ditto....

I agree....I've had my Ultimate Ear monitors about a month now and use them in conjunction with my Baehr comms system, which includes iPod, DAB radio, mobile phone & GPS audio as well as rider to pillion and bike to bike.........

Although a tad expensive I find them to be the best possible solution for onboard bike comms as they deliver distortion free audio whilst all but eliminitaing extraneous wind/road/machine noise......and the customer service from UE is second to none.......

Cheers

Chris

If its not too personal a question, how much are they and do you have any point of contact for them?

Cheers

The monitors retail at £140 but tell them you are a member of UKGSer and he will knock 10% off. They are also doing a special at the moment. A set of normal ear plugs for £25 if bought at the same time as the first set.

I got my monitors 3 weeks ago. Impressed? Damn right, a superb piece of kit.

I agree, I dealt with Kevin at http://www.ultimateear.com/, he was excellent. I had to send them back once because they were a poor fit, but now they are very good. Don't forget the 10% UKGSER discount!! Worth 14GBP (the cost of 18 months of quality membership)....(if you're clever you can now work out how much they are.....) ;-)

Hi Dan,
you could also consider 'Headset services' in Shoreham. You met my riding buddy (also called Chris) from Limavady with the 1150Adv when we saw you at Charles Hurst BMW in Belfast, he got his custom moulded monitors for his Autocom setup from this company and swears by them.

Regards

Adam
