.... that lamp does not do it for me. looks like some old 2-bar electric fire or an antique toaster. should have an old granny hunched up in front of it....

Nah ... C'mon .... that is a good looking head light. Very 21st century.

(Unlike JB who is still living in the 1900's ... :D)

I can understand why people want crud catchers etc, but I have yet to see a really nice one that actually looks like it has been designed with the style of the bike in mind, rather than just a bit of cnc machined flat ally that's then bent up - guess it is only cheap(ish) way of doing it though in the volumes that are sold.

I think that BMW would gain a lot of brownie points if it could find some really hard wearing, corrosion resistant finish for the front cover of its bikes - I am sure that we would pay a premium at least equal to what we pay for those horrid Wunderlich/Touratech things.

The ones on my test bike wern't - they were rusted to feck after 3,000 miles - have a look at the pictures on my test ride thread.

Your test bike was different then, because mine started life as shiny bronzey colour, don't know what the material is but it aint the same as the other nuts and bolts.

like the comment, but that lamp does not do it for me. looks like some old 2-bar electric fire or an antique toaster. should have an old granny hunched up in front of it.

wouldn't have either of those metal abominations on any bike of mine either, and i like headlight grilles.

can't find a nice one for my TC. had a lovely flip down wunderlich jobbie on my old bike, but they don't fit the newer (old) bikes.

Look into my eyes, look into the eyes, the eyes, the eyes, not around the eyes, don't look around the eyes, look into my eyes(clicks) you're under, you will buy a new GS toilet, 3, 2, 1, you're back on the forum

I think the phrase is "lit up like a council house at Xmas " :barf

EDIT.....exhaust manifold nut on first pic....rusty already :blast[/QUOTE]

It's not rusty , it's copper coated, which does make it look rusty, :blast

One of the only negative things I can think of on the new GS is that the paint is thinner than on the twin cam.:rob:blast

I fitted the crud catcher at around 600 miles, and were already a couple of stone chips on the front casing (hence why I kept nagging Hooters for me delivery:aidan), and there's also chips in front of the rear wheel.:comfort I never noticed one stone chip on my 3 twin cams in these areas.:augie Admittedly, I have been down some shitty back roads on this bike, but I was surprised to see these chips so soon.:comfort:blast:mad:

What a pile of shite. Never ceases to amaze me as to how much junk is fitted to bikes for no gain other than trinket mentality. What's happened to just riding the bloomin things ??
