Reliving bike trips whilst sat at my desk....
Other than a BMW dealer, where might one get the injectors cleaned ultrasonically?

If a dealer is the only or best place to go, fair enough, but that tends to be the more expensive way of getting something done, in my experience.

Worth mentioning where I am: Berkshire.

I'm guessing that Neil does not have an ultrasonic cleaner in his workshop, but if I'm wrong....

Why would they want cleaning ? You've not been reading adverts have you ??

The main problems are nozzles wearing ( after a huge mileage), so the fuel gets spat out instead of fine misting. No amount of cleaning cures that.

My bike still has low miles, relatively. This is because when the bike gets back, it'll need a full service after the S America trip. This includes fuel filter etc. Whilst I'm at ti why not clean the nozzles. I'm sure they did not like dodgy fuel any more than the filter.

As you no doubt remember, I experienced suspected pinking in my right hand cylinder during the trip and one cause that was suggested was a blocked or fouled up injector. This could explain why the bike was only misbehaving on that one side.

I want to get the bike spick and span when it gets back. Top to bottom as much as I can.

Do you know anywhere near you that does it, Neil?

Blocked or fouled injector usually isn't. It's usually a fauly solenoid.

I think there's place in wimbledon does injector cleaning, don'tknow he name :nenau

My deisel man rebuilds deisel injectors for £15 - new nozzles, seals and needles ; But can't do the bmw bike injectors. he says they're shite throw away items. :D

Not sure if fouling can happen on these things, they are upstream of the inlet valve.
I doubt anything would help one that was not working well, other than a new one.
