Hi guys, I've been biking for more years than I care to remember:rob and have a selection of various machinery. Most of my bike's cylinders are of the "V" format and two or three are vertical.
I'm now under pressure to get one whith cylinders sticking out the side , and I don't think a Douglas Dragonfly will cut the mustard.:eek I've joined your forum because a couple of my good friends have GS's and say that it is time that I got one.:blagblah I don't want to rush into this so I will be doing a lot of reading on here to see whether I should get a 1100, 1150 or 1200.

Hi Geo!
Windy, is it!

Depends on the budget whether 11 11.5 or 12 I guess. If you feel the need to try a 1200GSA there's a rather good retailer in the Lothians I'd recommend.
Yes, there's another one that may be nearer but despite going in effectively waving a cheque book...:nenau

Greetings & salutations Geo!, welcome to the site :D

Got a 1200 adventure myself, and love everything about it :thumb2 :thumb2

Geo, its called natural progression..1100, 1150 then 1200. The only people that will tell you the 1100 or 1150 are better bikes are those that have never lived withe 1200.

Lighter, faster, handling is a peach.....despite the well documented problems that all the models have had, its still an extreemly reliable bike for most of us.

Go test ride a 1200.

Try to get a ride on each model. You'll know which one is for you. They are all different.:thumb

Got a 1200 GSA and it's the best bike I've had by quite a margin - Why? I've had a few sportsbikes and used to go out for a 'quick' Sunday blast (about 50 miles). With the GSA I try and find any excuse to go for a 200 mile ride :thumb

Try and keep in mind that you may not get on with the bike straightaway - "odd" indicator switchgear, size, weight etc. However, after about 1500 miles it well and truely clicked for me - love it - wouldn't hesitate in getting another one. :JB
