I've just acquired myself a secondhand Belstaff Adventure jacket but it didn't have its inner lining.

Anyone like to recommend something fleecy and warm with some wicking capability for winter riding that won't need a second mortgage?

If you mean this one - http://www.britishmotorcyclegear.com/adventure-jacket.asp - it didn't originally come with a lining as it's not really intended for winter riding.

Did it come with the waterproof overjacket? The jacket itself isn't waterproof.

If you're going to wear it in the winter, you'll probably need something windproof as well as warm and wicking.

Keep your eBay eye out for a Belstaff Discovery and buy it. They are usually pretty cheap and are cracking jackets and have one of the best inners about. Keep your Adventure for summer.....

Either that or get a decent fleece /and/or a heated jacket. Any weather will be your weather

PS Just read it isn't waterproof so DEFINATELY get a Disco

I've got the rain cover. It is just really warmth I'm focussed on.

I've got a really good HG jacket for heavy-weight winter-wear when the weather is really sh1t.

The webbikeworld review was quite interesting - not least because the reviewer prefers using his own liner for warmth.

I'd still like some ideas on thin fleeces or similar if anyone has some recommendations.

Layers, the more the merrier.....

layer 1 - lightweight wicking for next to the skin
layer 2 - light thermal fleece (repeat as necessary) add multiple layers to get right temperature / comfort level
layer 3 - windproof (EDZ shell top)
layer 4 - Bike jacket (protection / armour etc)
layer 5 - waterproof (if layer 4 isn't)

I've used stuff from cotswold for years and it's great, and generally the guys there are pretty knowledgeable (don't buy on a saturday or sunday and you'll generally get more experienced staff)

However Decathlon, Go Outdoors, Millets, Blacks are now selling the same or similar stuff.
