Underseat exhaust

They say 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder', but how much do I need to drink to see the anything lovely in these? :augie

The arse-on view is OK'ish but nah, not for me. Looks like it's trying to make the GS something that's it not. Just my personal opinion.

what's the story with the left hand pannier, has it been re-modelled to make it larger or have they gone for the 'looks' option and just put a bit of plastic over it:nenau

Q. What's the story?

A. It's a third party exhaust, nothing to do with 'they' (ie. BuMW) who will no doubt not be altering their panniers.

Sorry old Wapping chap, but by 'they', i was referring to the manufacturers of said exhaust, Fallert, and not the orginal manufacturer BuMW, as the left hand pannier has been modified and i queried, was it a complete modification, ie making the pannier larger or merely a plastic piece to make the pannier look bigger from behind.

Are we cool:cool:

The pannier does look like it has been bodged to fit :eek

I'm surprised that BMW havn't offered this option already as a cash earner for themselves, it would really make sense and much harder to damage if you dropped your bike off road too.

I would have thought this would reduce the maximum possible suspension travel, so not ideal for off-road:nenau

yep they are ugly, but when going travelling the extra luggage space would be handy not to mention the improved ballance. The box will fit if you change the bottom clasp from one side to the other although there will be a bit of fiddleing it will work,
so i tell you what ill bid on them for 50 quid they must be worth that surely and if i am the lucky bidder i would quickly get over the fact how really really ugly they realy are.

It's a poor copy of a 1993 Triumph Tiger. The piping looks awful and the cans stick out too far at the back. It might well allow you to cut and shut a left-side pannier to carry an extra pair of pants but do you really need to.

I still think they look the dogs dangly bits :thumb2
Would look better black :D

Anyroadup ... they have gone past £50 so thats me out :(

They look pants, like a home-made afterthought. Is it just me or are the ones on the yellow GS different from the ones on the black bike?

Saw this a couple days ago. Why wont it work? something about the rear wheel hitting it offroad???

Good idea

:Motomartin I see the "style police" is active here.
I find it to be a very good solution, better than the lowering of the exhaust can.
It gives you the option of the full size pannier on both sides.
(Besides, I like the look)
I prefer these though : http://www.m-tec.org/html/m_tec_hpe_auspuff.html
Slightly different design.
Only in German, but you get the idea.
Generally these systems will hit your rear wheel on full compression on a 1200GS, but not on a 1200GSA.
They claim that this system does not have heat problems, the exhaust stays cool enough not to burn your stuff.
