One of the financial sites we use has 'upgraded its security'. As a result, whenever we try and log on we get an 'Unsupported Browser' message.

Can anyone please tell me what this means, and how I can try to get around it?

:nenau :nenau :nenau   :nenau :nenau

Many thanks in advance.

Sorry I didn't mean it to sound obtuse! What I meant was....

Firstly it depends what browser you are using. Often when new websites are not built very well, or old websites are updated badly, they will only work with Internet Explorer (usually) because nobody bothered to test with Firefox, Opera, all the usual browsers, or the specifications for the site did not include these browsers. (It's very bad form, but happens all the time  ). So, if you are getting this message and are using a non-Microsoft browser, you might have better luck trying again with Internet Explorer. If you are already using IE, you're probably stuffed because the site is just poorly constructed - and my advice would be either find a better site offering the same info, or complain like f**k if you're paying for the service.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for that. :rob :rob :rob :rob :rob :rob :rob :rob :rob

Your first response went way, way over my head, but now I understand (I think!)

Cheers again

I have to disagree there...

It could be that its a WC3 compliant page in which case the problem is firmly with IE which is a bag of shite and does not adhere to those standards.
Much like the crapy Outlook.

It could also be that the author is using a DHTML page and does not test for different browsers, in which case is just lazy.

Look at http://blogs.motorbiker.org/blogs.nsf in IE and then try Opera/Firefox.
