I like that display allot! But Will it be a standard fitment or will it be an optional extra?

Now the dash is the one thing I would change on my GS. Even the improved version of the speedo on my late '16 really is poor - what we're BMW thinking? Every other bike I've had has provided clear speed readout at a glance, even the Thunderbird albeit in a daft place. I'm not sure I could put up with it if I didn't have the Navigator to display readable speed info. An overdue but very welcome change in my book.

Afterthought: Maybe they should retrofit the dash under a safety recall? ;)

As expected, the GSA follows GS updates with new ESA, modes, Hill Start, and Rallye packaging. The TFT dash is a surprise though. Expect we will see it on all next years GSs. Finally an integrated unit, no more need for a "Nav unit". Sweet, can't wait to see how it functions!

I see there is an S.O.S button.........Hello, is that BMW, I am in waitrose carpark and have lost my shopping list.

It says 'Optional equipment' but doesn't make it clear if all bikes get TFT but just different versions or if you don't buy it you get the old version??

This isn't news. I told you all about the Bosch TFT dash, and GSA updates months ago.:rob;)

Edit - And who's the dick that's commented in the link saying that the fork issue has caused "deaths"?

There could be a lot of Nav V and Nav VI's coming up for sale in the next year:rolleyes:

BMW will be onto a good thing with the top version including GPS being an option as you will have to buy it new with each bike, not buy the unit and transfer it between bikes like now!!:blast

BMW will have to think carefully how they price it if it is an option, bearing in mind the KTM has it as standard now. As they'll be losing sales of Nav VI units, they'll either increase the price of the bike and make it standard, or keep the price the same, with the option to unlock Nav on the display for, say £500. That's what KTM will be doing.

What about all the stories of a completely new GS;)

Spring 19. I suspect this is going to slow down the GS sales until then (though some will have been waiting for a material update, like HP increase, anyway).

I'm keen to see more about the GPS functionality as it looks a little basic but what more do you really need I suppose. I really like the traffic feature and routing is a must.

Cue the folk on here saying that the Nav is too big & the speedo display is too small, and vice versa :D
