Updates for Sid

That's no ordinary man - That's a relentless, mile-eating, machine.....

:pirate

aye, that's because he still owes the hotel in the Gambia for one beer at happy hour. They're after him with a vengeance :D

Yes he is cracking on, maybe he has changed his plans, we met another nutcase at the Zebra bar, his name was Nigel and he had managed to get to The Gambia on his bike at the third attempt, previous attempts had failed because of little irritations that that can occur in Africa like a stroke !!!! that required surgery.
Anyways strangely him and Sid hit it off  and had planed to meet at the Bikers Home in Ouarzazete to explore some pistes together, but he is well beyond that point now.

Yesterday was bit of a mile muncher.
Had lie in until 8.00, good breakfast, fueled up and left Dakhla at 9.00am. Checked into hotel in Tiznit at 7.00pm. Receptionist asked if I'd come far "From Dakhla, 720 miles (or 1,150 kms) in 10 hours including fuel stops, wee stops, food stops and several police stops".

He replied "Do you know what the speed limit is in this country" with a big smile.:)

Not such good day today. Left Tiznit heading for Bikers Home but then it pissed down and I got soaked. Still had all vents open in jacket and trousers and by time I found somewhere to stop it was too late:(

Weather shite all day so decided to head straight to Hotel Yasmine in Rabat again. A mere 400 miles today. I've got from Banjul on Monday morning to here in Rabat in 6 days and that includes the rest day at Zebrabar and the short ride from Mauri border to Dakhla so 4 and half days riding.

Hopefully get into Spain tomorrow night and get Jesus to change the TKCs back to Tourances on Monday. Future plans dependant largely on weather.

Heading back now to hotel bar which is again filled with old men and young girls. I wouldn't like to guess the girls profession but "world's oldest" might be good guess.:)

Sids now back in Spain and seems to be heading from Tarifa to Algeciras now :thumb
FFS,:blast you'd think he was after a place on a "Go do one Tour" ;):D

Reached Algercias. Still having lots of fun.

Spent ages typing reply then it all disappeared. :(

Got back to Hotel Christina. Excellent. :)

Getting tyres changed tomorrow back to Tourances. Leaving here Tuesday am.

Good beer and wine here.:beerjug::jager:beer:

El Cid is the man.

Wouldn't like to try and keep up on the road or at the bar..

Wanted to explore Maroc more but the shite weather put me off. Plus I´m a bit knackered and I suppose a bit homesick as been away from home for 40 days now.

Got tyres fitted this morning but pissing down here in Algercias. Going to head up to good old Benidorm tomorrow about 430 miles I think so fair days ride.

Might get around to writing up blog now I´m back to normal keyboards and reliable connections.

Got to be back in Jersey for next week to prepare for my Dads 80th birthday. Weather forecast looks shite so that will influence the speed of my progress.

Still having a great time. You meet up with a lot more interesting characters when you travel solo rather than in a big group. Met chap this morning at Harley dealers who has built one of the best custom Harleys I´ve ever seen. It recently won best in show at European show and has been invited over to the States for the Sturgis rally.

Left Algercias this morning at 9.30 am in the pissing rain. Arrived here in Benidorm at 3.25 pm after 430 miles of rain, snow and fog. (think that works out as an overall average of just over 70mph, acceptable considering the roads and the weather). Nice to be back on tourances, much smoother on the road. Who needs a faster bike?

Going to go out and find a bar cheaper than the hotels.

Still having an adventure:D

Sid

PS Proff is my Spot still working? I think it switched itself off today so I need to source some new lithium batteries.

That'll teach you not too race through all those nice warm countries you left behind :comfort

As Andres said though, the hotel should see you back at the +30 degrees C level again to warm your keks.
