Updating a Carpuride W702 - (702 ONLY) - Upload / Download and help notes etc - CHECK YOUR VERSION FIRST!!!!

Not sure version. But directly from carpuride. Also definitely for 702 as I sent them a screenshot of my current version to get this file

Did carpuride ask for your device version ? It may not need updating and there have been occasions where people have tried to update and trashed the device abandoned required a replacement

Yes I sent them device information then they sent me firmware.
 
V1.22 has been out a while now, although it's worth noting that the W702 has 2 variants, one with a black round connector and one with a newer yellow and black connector. I only know this cause I had the one with just a black connector and it had to be replaced as the touch screen went faulty recently and the new one has the yellow connector. Only difference I can between the units other than the obvious is that the new one has a voltage readout in the top right corner of the main screen. So it would be prudent to check with Carpuride that the software update is universal for both variants given that the software is clearly ever so slightly different.

Also there is a new W702Pro which looks to have even more updated features so definitely worth erring on the side of caution when updating.

I have a 702 that I bought from a fellow tosser about 6 months ago. I have an issue with the top left of the screen not responding. When I have Waze in full screen that is where the search icon is so I have to go into split screen to use the search facility. I was hoping an update might solve the issue but seeing that you had a similar problem, maybe not. Also looking back at posts it seems dead parts of the touchscreen is an issue withCarpuride. I don’t think I’ll be able to return it to Amazon as although I have a copy of the receipt I’m not the original purchaser & as such my address is obviously different.
May have to look at a Chigee or even a BMW CRN.

Ho creato sul mio canale Instagram un breve video con tutti i passaggi effettuati dopo aver ricevuto il nuovo firmware dalla Carpuride, specificando nel dettaglio modello del dispositivo e versioni sia del firmware che gli altri dati visualizzati nella schermata Impostazioni

Hi all, today I got a firmware update for my W702 from Carpuride Customer Service, what I noticed is the screen brightness control, it's changed from the slider to a button, the firmware version is 1.10 but the build is 26 september 2024 (not sure what day 26/29? but is september 2024), if somebody is interested I can upload it, or maybe you can just ask Carpuride support to give you this firmware...
One question, has anyone managed to change the menu bar from bottom to the side (left or right) in Android Auto? Carplay seems to have left, I have other devices that I can just change from bottom to the side.

Please use a PC Windows computer to copy the latest version of the software ISPBOOOT.BIN to the TF Card, power on the Carpuride unit, and wait for 10 seconds to display the operation interface. After inserting the TF Card, the "upgrade MPEGBOOTI" will pop up. Check √ -> Wait for the upgrade progress bar to reach 100% -> Update success and pull out the TF Card.

Need to pay attention to these situations.

1. When installing the device, the TF Card can only store the ISPBOOOT.BIN software. If there are other files, it will cause interference and cause the upgrade to fail. It is recommended to use the C10 standard 32GB TF card. It is recommended to format the TF card with Fat32 as the file system before copying the software to the TF card.
2. The file name cannot be changed or added characters, it must be the same as the attachment.

3. The memory of the TF Card does not exceed 32GB, thank you.
4. Please do not remove the TF Card during the upgrade in case of damage to the device. Thank you.

In the meantime, I contacted support and got the latest version.

Firmware version LT-N702-V1.10

So far the only change i noticed is brightness control, it's changed from the slider to a button, when long press on it you can change brightness separately for day and night mode.
