I've just discovered a problem with the Super Pro AVI on my GSA, for me the music, phone sat nav intercom all work faultlessly but for the wife its different, the intercom is fine but she can barely hear the music even when its at full volume. We both have brand new in ear monitors which are fantastic, she can her herself fine on the intercom. We both have new headsets too. When she plugs into my plug she can hear the music fine.
Could it be the lead from the autocom to the passenger socket is at fault and if so can it be changed. I've had a quick look at the unit itself and I cant see how it can be taken apart to see if there's a loose connection.
She says when she can hear the music very faintly its also distorted? Anyone have any clues on this?
Regards:comfort

We had a problem with our super pro automatic last year.. Intermittently going faint. You can get into them and swap the leads over.. But my advice is give Sam at Chainspeed a call.. He used to work for Autocom ....:thumb2

Ours turned out to be a problem with the circuit board ....

Cheers

I have located a new replacement passenger lead, Part number 1593 but how do you get into the AVI, I'd like to see if its just a solder come away and I can sort that before ordering the new part.

If i recall correctly there are screws under a sticker on the box? I know I got into mine in a hotel car park near Verdun.. So not that much of a problem.....

I'm assuming the SPA is the same method as yours....

Nope

Change of tactic, got the autocom apart and swapped drivers for passengers leads and the rear lead works ok, so not that. What I did discover is that the rear lead works perfectly if the music comes through the ipod, its only when on the Zumo that music is virtually inaudible through the passenger headset, fine through the riders...................curiouser and curiouser??

Are you plugging the Zumo and iPod into the same port on the Autocom? What happens if you do?

Obvious but thought I'd better mention it just in case...

You have tried the rider passenger fader knob (yellow) haven't you? Like a left/right fader on a stereo, turn one way and it turns one up, the other down. Centre position is max for both rider and passenger. Only effects inputs into sockets Aux#2 and Aux#3.

Of course there's the separate rider and passenger volume as well, green knobs, but if she has good volume on intercom then this is probably OK.

Cheers

Thanks Bumkin, yes, I've tried that too, they'd be no volume at all on the ipod connection if that was wrong. Thats the odd thing, it picks up the Ipod from Aux3, but not the Zumo music from Aux2?

YOu may of hit the nail on the head there, using the fader dial makes no difference to anything no matter where the music is being played from, maybe its the fader dial thats broken............ thanks for all your input.
