You only need that when the dipped angle adjuster breaks. Its a weak design with nylon screw and ball joint affair.

Fitting LED bulbs is (almost) plug and play. The bulbs plugs into a "ballast" box which has H7 prongs on one end that fit an H7 bulb connector. You need two H7 connectors and a three way connector to replicate the BMW headlight connector to make a patch lead. Also wire in a branch wire for main and dip in case you want to trigger a relay.

I obviously flunked "NASA" in school.

One man's "plug & play" is another man's Hadron Collider!!

The bulbs drop in like the halogens. The ballast leads cant be confused (special plugs that fit one way only). If you can wire a 13A plug, you can make a patch lead. Alternatively get it done by an auto electrician. It wont be costly. The only issue is getting the correct plug to fit the wiring loom. Check the LED headlights thread.

Cheers Bendy, I do appreciate the advice.

The issue is closing the back of the headlight. You might be able to get dome shaped rubber grommets but they wont circulate air around the heat sink so bulbs like mine (with passive heat sink) will likely overheat.

However, the bulbs with a fan cooler on the back should be ok with a flexible mesh sleeve around the heatsink and lamp case cover. The mesh should keep the crap out but allow air to be pulled through.

I fitted the full Hid 50 kit with bracket on my GSA just returned from a trip abroad with no issues. The group I was with said they could see me for miles. I think they are a great addition. Les was great for advice and fitting instructions were easy to follow.
