Upgrading my 2008 r1200gs to newer style led indicators ?

Hi all, just a simple question really, but I suspect the answer might not be as simple.
Is it possible to fit the new style genuine BMW led indicators to my older model 2008 r1200gs ?
My style of bike has normal indicator bulbs.
Any thoughts or comments - like forget it etc.....

I fitted the led indicator boards for want of a better term to my stock 06 indicators years ago along with clear lenses. From a later model. Can't remember where I got them from but I'll have a look.
They fitted into the stock indicator housing plug and play.
 
If it's an 08 you don't need anything beyond the new indicators, they just plug straight in. For the 08 update the LED indicators became a factory option.

I have a 2008 Gsa myself, I am thinking of changing them to the same, I noticed ebay has some cheap chinese ones for under a Tenner a pair, please let us know how you get on....Gee

Tip to remember, As they are usually bought in pairs, the rears are a different base fitment than the fronts, slightly longer and left and right. (Important when ordering)
 
you can code the correct workings inside the bikes ZFE for LED indicators in 2024 versions of the GS911 and I believe its been in Motoscan for many years

the issue with BMWs like Ford they fit an appalling electronic diagnostics check - by sending a voltage spike around the circuits to measure if the load is as high as they expect. Its this very junk that pops headlight bulbs far too frequently. If you go the route of LEDs without coding the change in the ZFE you'll get bulb failure messages when everything is fine, and at other times - it can throw its teddies and turn off the circuit for fun till next key on off cycle

Real vehicles use a more sophisticated set up that doesn't encourage bulbs to pop and they don't throw teddies when you want to run later bulb tech

Ignore the above bollox, you don't need to do anything other than swap your indicators , as long as the new LED ones are the BMW OE ones.
 
when someone provides the correct information on how to mod your bike - just because of one's own ignorance, you don't need shout down others that know better or be rude for the sake of it - but many do
 
I provided the exact information required for the OPs question. You on the other hand used it as another opportunity to waffle on at length about your own technical expertise without actually answering the question. Which is normal for you.

I’ve used these on a few bikes.

Plug and play not loose wires.

The quality is excellent.
