I have taken some video with a new maginon sport HD camera which records onto a micro sd card, it will upload and play back on the laptop, but will play audio only on the Samsung galaxy tab..any ideas :nenau

Thanks Steve

The Galaxy Tab 7" plays a version of MP4 files called Mkv I think. At the moment I'm playing around with conversion software to convert some dvd's I have to this format. Handbrake seems to be a good option, I'll let you know how it goes.

OK,
bear with me here folks as I'm no techno wiz !

I have, or should I say Joanne has managed to download several apps onto the Galaxy which will play the video back.

The problem now is that it will play very slowly on some apps or skip several seconds on others.

After doing some research I would like to ask if this could possibly be due to the "data transfer speed"of the sd card ?

If you can record fast enough to the card I would have thought that you could read from it fast enough. Try a player called BS player and see how you get on. Other alternative is to upload it to YouTube, let Google handle all the conversion stuff and play it from there. You can do some editing there as well.
