On a recent ride out I picked up the first puncture of my r12gs since I bought it. A rear wheel puncture unfortunately but it was really good to get early warning. It wasnt a blow out 'holy sh1t' moment but the dash lit up immediately and the tyre presure gauge showed the rapidly dropping presure allowing a very steady stop with no damage or moment of terror.
Followed up by a prompt recovery via the BMW recovery scheme it was all very easy. Sometimes these computers are just great!

Helped me out on my last GS when I got a puncture

this is what they told me in the dealer... good to know it works out in practice - wouldn't help with a blow out as happened with my trusty CB200 in 81. Turned out that the michlelin tyre was turning on the rim and ripped the valve out as Rospa found years later but too late to avoid me having an artic run past my nose..
