Heading north via Lairg and Altnaharra to Durness tomorrow (Saturday) We saw "road closed" signs yesterday but does anyone know if the bridges that are being repaired on the road to Hope are negotiable by road bikes?

You could always go via Laxford Bridge A838. I came down there today going back to Inverness and there was an army lorry gone off the road stupid buggers.
If its any help we went from durness to tongue to lairg on monday and no probs
Must have passed you then ....... we confirmed with the Altnaharra Hotel that both bridges that were repaired have been washed out again - so the Strathnoree Hope road will sadly be closed for a while yet
Is that the road that heads south from Hope past Loch Hope, and then goes onto Altnahara?
