USA screen for GS

This topic has been covered before, but I have recently received a new screen for my GS and it does solve the buffeting problem. I ordered it, on a recommendation from friends in the States, from Sierra BMW, Reno, San Francisco. Including import duties, VAT and a clearance fee of £8 from Parcelforce it has only cost me around £135. If you are thinking about changing your screen, this is an interesting one to think about.

Is it a BMW screen? There was mention of a new screen in the US, complete with BM part number that the UK dealers can't order.

If yes, could you post the part number as well as pics?

Hello. The screen is a BMW (USA) part, numbered 46-63-2-154-499. I will post some pictures when I find out how to do this on the forum. Cheers.

Hi Dave, I don't have a problem with physical buffeting, ie I ride a windless bubble, but the noise of the buffeting is very annoying, did your new screen take away the noise?

hi all, I have the "america only" screen fitted to my 08 gs and noticed a big reduction in noise and buffeting,The screen looks right and quality is good,I also have an MRA and am going to try it for a while,so the bmw screen is for sale if anybodys interested £100.00 + post.

My 04/05 had an American screen & it looks like Ya'lls...

I also have one of these screens on my '06GS and can report a welcome reduction in both noise and buffeting. Apart from not fitting overly well, quality seems good.

You'll also need a couple of grommets, 46637709435 and 46637709434.

Thanks to Ikyphyl for the photo links as I have not yet sorted this out. In reply to Dean - the noise is a bit less than before, but I am about to ditch my Arai and try one of the new System 6 helmets. The new screen only works for me in the most upright position, but I am over 6ft tall and use the seat on it's highest settings.
