Was given this with no discs - but i can't find a name on it or adriver for it.

It comes up in XP as a USB digital still camera with a yellow question mark , but no progs will find it to let it download.

I think its about 2mb ?

Anyone seen anything got anything similar ??

My lad had one of those a while back, very poor quality pictures. He used it as a web cam.

When he gets home from school I'll get him to dig out the driver disk for you.

Looks remarkably like an Aiptek pencam, I know cos I've got one. Alright for quickie photos but quality not to good if you want to "blow" up the photos. I've a disc as well. PM me with your addressw.

Take a look at the label on it.

Every bit of equipment for PC's has a unique number....it's a 'Merikan thing....It'll start with FCC ID then its code.

Enter that code (with the FFC ID bit in front as well) into google and you should find out exactly what it is, and probably places you can find the drivers for it online too.

Installed the aiptek driver - didn't recognise it - doesn't work

No FCC ID code on it anywhere :(

I was only messing about with it cos i found it in a box. ( i know its a bit crap )

Windows 'dings' when it connects but nothing else

ARe you using XP??

If so, make sure you have service pack 1 installed........without it, XP has problems with all sorts of USB devices.....it won't see my camera either, or my hub, garmin device or several other things....I load SP1 up and bingo, it all works.

Just a thought have you tried it in other USB ports. My FInepix refused to be recognised if I use the front USB port, but as soon as I plugged it in the back one it worked fine.

It does look terribly like one of 'em Aiptek Pencam Trio buggers

The driver page is at http://www.aiptek.com/www2/drivers.htm where I note there is a "Pencam Trio VGA" and a "Pencam Trio VGA Plus" as well as a "Pencam Trio". Two seem to share a driver but t'other is different.

You pays your money and you downloads both I reckons - less than 10MB altogether.

If you trust my links, here's the drivers.

PenCam Trio and PenCam Trio VGA

PenCam Trio VGA plus

I've gone to the trust site and d/l the driver - thanks

It could work - looks like mines a cheap copy or the unbadged original.

thanks guys
