Could anyone tell me , if fitting drz forks to an airhead what steering stem do you use. Is it the drz transplanted into the bmw yoke or can you use the whole drz yoke?
cheers hovis

The drz one fits width requirements but is about 11mm longer.

I am using it as standard with a 11mm aluminium spacer - on my project katmandu thread i think it lists the id and od of the spacer.

To be perfect it would be better to take out the stem and machine it down to the correct size which I may do later.

You have to use the drz head bearings as the od is the same but the id is larger.

NB The offset is not as big so it compromises the turning circle as the forks hit the frame (or ideally bump stops :-) )sooner

The title of the thread is USD forks, so I take it that you are using a set of forks from a DRZ-SM that uses 17" front wheel?
Do you intend to use the 17" wheel on the project?

21" and 17" wheels are interchangeable - same spindle and hub
