I've been wearing contacts for more years than I care to remember & really can't take to wearing glasses when on the bike - as they blur my vision too much as the helmet moves them about. So, contacts are far better for me - but I did have one (literally) blow out of my eye when riding a bike (open face helmet) in Madiera. Having said that, its the only time I've had a problem, but I think the wind in the face would have an effect on drying the lenses & thus causing irritation.
As everyone differs in their response to lenses, just try for yourself.

I've got reactolite prescription glasses - they've been OK for me for years, I haven't noticed any problems in tunnels, but I haven't been in any serious ones for years. I had plain glasses when I went through the tunnels in Norway on the Krystal rally.
Did go blind coming out in to snow after having entered a long tunnel on dry tarmac though!
I get a bit of "bounce" if they're not settled in place properly, as my lid grips them a bit (System 4).
As Greg says, they've got to be kept at the right distance from the eyeball; I had problems with this when I changed form my System 3, but just got used to shoving them in to place a bit harder.
Flip-up lids save taking your glasses off, putting 'em on the saddle, picking them up off the floor when they get blown away
Need to change them soon, and I'll get reactolite again.
