The market is flooded with used R1150GS as owners bail out before the winter and place deposits on the new R1200GS that is rumouted to ship in March. GS prices are dropping as a consequence.
I'm not a fair weather biker, I use mine most days throughout the year so I can't do without a bike. But with prices dropping fast and me wanting a new bike in the spring, I'm thinking of dumping the GS and buying an old hack for use through the winter.
I really fancy an airhead - possibly R80/100 GS or RT. I wouldn't pay much and putting 6000 miles on over the winter wouldn't do much to the bike's price. I wouldn't loose as much on the old bike as I would if I kept my R1150GS until the spring. Plus I'd get to play on a different bike, one I might even keep when I get the new GS. Bath Road have a pretty nice airhead RT in at the moment so I might take it out for a spin later this week.
Tell me I don't have a screw loose.
