My father, along with a number of other veterans of World War II Arctic Convoys to Russia was presented with the Ushakov Medal for valour at sea, in St Mary's Cathedral in Edinburgh on Thursday afternoon. Here he is with Andrey Pritsepov, the Russian Consul General in Edinburgh who presented the medal.

Saw the report on the telly and wondered if your dad would be there. Well done to all.

Absolutely brilliant Schtum, respect to your dad and all of the veterans, you must be very proud:beerjug:

Thats just fantastic, thanks for sharing. You can see the quality of those gentlemen by the shine of their shoes.

Spending a day or two with these fine gentlemen and listening to their memories over a beer or two.......now that would be something else... fantastic picture and thanks for sharing with us. You must be bursting with pride..
