Utag and Apple

i guess no instruction book then?

makes you wonder if they are so good, how come one would need to ask the question, as surly they should be able to accessed by every computer

It is supposed to be plug in and play on any computer, otherwise its not much good !!!

Although its not much good anyway.

I thought I'd add to the helpfull information

I believe you will need to borrow a mates PC of laptop.

"Connecting the UTAG to your computer
Plug the UTAG into a free USB port on a Windows compatible computer (UTAG is supported on Windows ME, 2000, XP and Vista).
Your computer will detect the UTAG and it will Autorun on Vista (setting dependant) or open a window with the UTAG logo and **** UTAG ICE ****. Highlight this and click ‘OK’, this will launch the program"

Surely as a USB device, it should be recognised by MAC or PC ?
Now it may well be formatted to FAT format, (PC) and so not work so well with a Mac,as files can get corrupted and may not save correctly, but I would have thought you could format to Mac OSX+ format using Disc Utility.
It is only a form of USB memeory stick is it not?
Now I don't know from personal experience, as I don't have a Utag; does it have special software included to extract details from you computer, or do you just add the info you want, manually ?
Maybe the manufacturers have a website where you can download Mac compatible software for the unit.

Sounds like it has a U3 partition and application on it, this won't run on a mac.

It might work under parallels if the device is mapped to a windows vm. Easiest thing would be to plug it in to a freinds pc and let their progam load up to enter your details.

Don't sweat it if you can't load anything, nobody will ever load the drive in a medical emergency. This has been done to death here.

what were trying to say is, dont bother, they are a waste of money, and effort, as it will never be connected to any computer in the emergency departments, anywhere.....

and if you cant do anything with it, how do you expect us to??

your better off with a dog tag printed or stamped hung around your neck.

Oh please ! I am sure you mean well but I don't want to kick off that debate again. I was just interested to know if I got one would it work on my Apple. It seems not
