Have many of us suffered the same fate I have on a couple of occasions ie indicators (turn signals USA) snapping like carrots?
Surely on a bike designed with off road capabilities like the GS it should have indicators with a bit more flex/give unlike mine which on both occasions now have been snapped innocently/clumsily just by walking past the bike & catching them unawares.
Guessing the plastics have become brittle (bike 10 years old) maybe but there doesn’t appear to be much flex in the design from new.
Hopefully the rear one will be easier to fit than the front which needed quite a few panels removing to do so.
Any fitting hints tips suggestions please?

This is a common occurrence in dealerships with punters walking around viewing the bikes, getting a little bit close and ooops, snap! there goes another indicator.

The led ones will snap in a strong wind , someone snapped the front one off my r1200gsa lc on the cross channel ferry and as mentioned dealers were changing them on stock bikes on a weekly basis .

The 1260 ones are better but if you have a 1200 with led indicators fit the Wunderlich (or copy protectors )

Yup. My garage is congested.

Have snapped two indicators on my 2014 and 2020 WC GS's.

Just attempted to fit my replacement, much easier than the front, 2 screws release the undertray below the rear light cluster & there are two connector blocks accessible beneath the rear seat. Strange design of plug, the large end is too big to go through the wire hole so you have to unplug an adaptor socket to get the indicator off. Anyway been sent the wrong indicator which has a mount foot approx twice the size of mine despite it being advertised as for a gs1200 2013 on. Hopefully get the right one next time.

Thought there was only two sizes , the GS uses the same short stemmed ones both front and rear whereas the GSA has short stemmed on the front and extended stem ones on the rear (although you can fit the short ones on the rear as well to keep them tucked further in )

Is the one on the right for a GSA?
