v7 to v8 2610 help needed please

Hi

On my pc i have got the new v8 but on my gps i have got the old v7, how do i transfer v8 to the gps??

i thought it would transfer it when i done a route ,,,, but no!!

when i plan a route and send it to the gps everything is ok, but when i activate the route it tells me that ''this route does not match available maps''

please help

You need to send the maps to the gps as well as the route. Select the map segments you want on the unit and then tick transfer maps in the pop up box that apears when you select the transfer to device icon.

Ok as long as you have the version 8 fully installed and updated on top of your v7 your ok to rock and roll with the map update.

You will need to press and select the map icon tool which is a funny little shape. If you hold the cursor over the icon it will come up and tell you this.

Once you've selected this you need to select the maps which you want to select these will turn pink and green depending if you've hit the coast or not.

If you've selected a map tile which you don't want then click it again and it will deselect it.

Once you have selected all of the maps which you have then press the black unit icon at the top middle saying send to device. It will then pop up with another box showing the unit 2610 and the unit id number then click next or start and it should then start transfering maps over.

Please make sure that the map tiles you've selected are able to fit the card which you have be it a 256mb, 512mb,1gb or 2gb. You can check by looking in the bottom left hand side where it shows you how many maps you've chosen and the size.
