just got this today.. very handy for the cold days we are having at the moment, and my bike will be stored for months this year... and this is considerable cheaper than insulating the garage which I don't particularly want to do anyway..

Vac-sealed bag for your GS.

gave her a clean, drove it in, put in the moisture absorbing crystals and the humidity gauge and used the vacum cleaner to suck out the air..

hibernating till late spring..

got it from these lads

You're spoiling it, you need to get out and use it:blast

I thought the whole idea of these bikes are that they are good to use all year round:nenau

ah I am over ten years riding bikes all year round... but my Son arriving changed that schedule a little..

I did mention to my wife that he would be perfectly happy in the pannier with a nice blanket around him on the way to the creche.

but she was having NONE of it..!!!

Its a killer not to have the time anymore.. but roll on the spring, and my son will be bigger.. so more time for bikes!!!

Nice one Buttso :)

I have mine zipped into a Motorax Cocoon with my Optimate on and a 60 watt bulb running 24/7 to keep her warm :D

Best regards Stretch :)

When these bikes are all sealed up for the winter what happens to the acidic gasses from the battery? Especially if left on an Opimate:nenau

nice N Cozy

cheers Stretch... she is well cozy... :beerjug:

I already had the frame replaced under warranty.. after it rusted to sh1te the first year I had it... I had it under an OXFORD cover I bought at the show.. fairly well covered.. you know yourself.... but the bike was a mess after 6 months of the winter.. so I am not going through that with the toe-rags at BMW again

Hey Shep, the battery is hooked up to an Optimate at the back of the garage on a shelf where I can keep an eye on it..

Hi Shep, its a good point, however I have been using this method for over 10 years, started with my 2000 model year Softail Deuce in a Harley bubble, threw that out this year because there was more gaffer tape than plastic bubble left of it!!!

Also, the Cocoon and Bubble are not vacced out so you have some air space in there, for me the iceing on the cake is the 60 watt bulb which in that environment provides enough heat to stop moisture condencing on the metal.
Any how my bikes have emerged from many winters with no corrosion on them whatsoever :D

Buttso's defo. got it right though, because he has his vacced out, the best place for the battery is off the bike :thumb

Best regards Stretch :)

Anything kept in a vac bag gets extremely creased and needs ironing when removed.
