I am going on a camping trip with the motorcycle and would like to have vacuum bags to take as much as possible with me. Do you have any tips on which ones work well?

I put it up somewhere here before - I have used the large Tesco food bags - they are great for clothing. Roll the items up , place in the bag, sit on the bag to push out the air & click & seal. As pointed out on my original post, maybe not great for a long trip, but for a short one (I have used on trips up to 12 days) does the job well. There is also a panel on each bag that you can label with a marker pen.

I did a 5 week trip using vacuum bags for packing, within 2 weeks several had developed leaks. I now use Amazon compression bags (other makes are available).

if you mean the bags that you suck air out of with a vacuum i can see a slight problem with your plan ...

I would go with the compression packing cubes

Compression cubes is one way forward, packing less shit and taking clothes you can wash in a shower is another.

I used to take a 50l rucksack for 2 weeks climbing in the Alps and that had a sleeping bag, two 50m ropes and my climbing kit in it along with my clothes :D

Try taking only what you need, instead of as much as you can.
I've got the Chinese ones with vacuum pump and have used them for years. When they fail, I buy some more as they are cheap. Buy the large ones as they are easier to pack and the excess plastic takes up no room.

I use them on the Bike to pack down clothes into a smaller space. JML do a portable set up with a small vacuum pump you can run off a power bank.

I am with Andy on this.

The only thing I use the vacuum / roll flat and expel the air out bags, is to:

A. Pack the sheets, pillow cases, tea towels and towels away in my motorhome, when it’s not in use.

B. Pack my T-shirts and shorts away at the end of the summer and / or pack my winter stuff away in the spring.

Pack once, unpack, lob half of it away. Pack again and repeat as necessary. Or, as Micky says: “Halve yiur clothes and double your money”.
