Does anyone have a link to a good guide (written or YouTube) how to effectively undertake a valve clearance check they are willing to share?

Ok just found this thread and it reads like the investment required makes a mechanic the best option. Not as simple as me old RT. I know a really good mechanic in Edinburgh
